Sobre Este Evento

Descrição

The 300-Hour Sampoorna Yoga Advanced Teacher Training is a three-week residential yoga teacher training at Yogi Hari's Ashram in Miramar, Florida. It is made for students and teachers who have finished foundational training and want to deepen their own practice, refine how they teach, and study classical yoga in a lineage setting. The course is offered once a year and follows the Sampoorna Yoga teachings of Dr. Shri Yogi Hari.

What to Expect

The three weeks combine daily practice with study. Asana and pranayama are practiced each day, with an emphasis on technical variation and the freedom of working with many modifications on familiar postures. Alongside this, you are introduced to mudras, bandhas and kumbhakas.

The scriptural study draws on the Bhagavad Gita, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Philosophy lectures cover Vedantic and Samkhya ideas of the universe, the Self and truth, karma and reincarnation as the law of cause and effect, and the three bodies: physical, astral and causal.

The course also looks at the six main paths of yoga: Hatha, the path of kundalini awakening; Raja, the study and control of the mind; Jnana, the path of Self-knowledge; Bhakti, the path of devotion; Karma, the path of selfless service; and Nada, the science of divine vibration.

Practical teaching skills are part of the work too. Anatomy and alignment sessions introduce the main bodily systems, the effects of asana and pranayama on them, and how to adjust postures for proper alignment. Nutrition and health studies cover Ayurvedic principles for daily life, the Shatkriyas (traditional cleansing techniques) and their practical application, and a yogic approach to nourishing the body. By the end, you should be prepared to teach an open-level class to a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced practitioners.

About Dr. Shri Yogi Hari

Yogi Hari is the teacher of this training and the source of the Sampoorna Yoga teachings. The lineage he draws on is that of Baba Hari Dass (1923 to 2018), an Indian yoga master, silent monk and temple builder, classically trained in the Ashtanga of Patanjali (Raja yoga), as well as Kriya yoga, Ayurveda, Samkhya, Sri Vidya, Tantra, Vedanta and Sanskrit. Baba Hari Dass took a vow of silence in 1952 and kept it throughout his life, communicating through writing. He wrote commentaries on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, the Samkhyakarika and the Vedanta Panchadasi, along with aphorisms, essays, plays, stories, kirtan, mantras and instructional yoga materials.

Past participants describe the teaching as deepening their understanding of yoga in a way they felt would be hard to find outside an ashram, and speak of learning to listen to the body and reconnect with their own nature.

The Setting

The training takes place at Yogi Hari's Ashram in Miramar, Florida. Participants live on site in the ashram's residential accommodations, so the days are lived within the practice with few distractions. Graduates mention the fruit trees around the grounds and the quiet that makes inward attention easier. Three vegetarian meals are served each day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Before You Go

This is an advanced course, designed for established practitioners and teachers who have completed foundational training and want greater technical mastery and teaching precision. Instruction is in English.

Residential lodging at the ashram and all vegetarian meals are part of the program. The course carries 300 hours of instruction in total and runs as a continuous three-week residency, so plan to be present for the whole stay.
