Yoga Retreat
Description
Retreat Yourself is a flexible yoga retreat at Suryalila Retreat Centre in Villamartín, Cádiz, in Andalusia, southern Spain. You choose a stay of five, six or seven nights and shape it around your own pace, with daily yoga as the thread through the week. It is led by the Suryalila Inhouse Teachers, the centre's resident teaching team. It suits people who want a wellness retreat without a fixed programme: someone who wants to rest and recharge, someone who wants to move more, or someone who wants a mix of both.
What to Expect
The idea is simple. Rather than following a set schedule, you design your own retreat and decide how full or how quiet your days are. Yoga is offered every day, and around it you choose the experiences that suit you. The base stay includes:
- daily yoga with the inhouse teachers
- organic vegetarian meals
- holistic treatments
- time in nature
- space to simply rest
For those who want more, optional add-ons are available. They are aimed at guests looking for more activity, adventure, healing or deeper immersion. You can leave them aside and keep the week spacious, or add a few and make it fuller. The length of stay is also your choice, so a short reset of five nights and a longer week of seven are both possible.
The atmosphere is that of a working retreat centre in the countryside rather than a hotel. Teachers, staff and other guests share the same practice, meals and surroundings, and the rhythm of the day is built around yoga, good food and being outdoors.
The Teachers
Classes are taught by the Suryalila Inhouse Teachers, the team who live and work at the centre. Because they teach there regularly, they know the space, the setting and the range of guests who come, from people new to yoga to those with an established practice.
The Setting
Suryalila Retreat Centre sits in the countryside near Villamartín in the province of Cádiz, in the Andalusian landscape of southern Spain. The region is known for its sunshine and its natural parks, and the centre uses this setting for its yoga, its outdoor time and its slower pace. Meals are organic and vegetarian, which keeps the days simple: you practise, eat, walk, rest and repeat as often as you like.
The centre also runs guided retreats with a set schedule, as well as teacher trainings and guest-led retreats. Retreat Yourself is the option for people who would rather build their own stay than follow a fixed programme.
Before You Go
Because you design the week yourself, this format works for a wide range of experience, and the daily yoga is there for you to join as much as you wish. Think about how much activity you want and whether you would like to add any of the optional experiences, whether that means more adventure, more healing or a deeper dive. Choosing between five, six or seven nights is the main decision, and it sets how much time you have to slow down.
